DESCRIPTION
Polysorbate 20
The Essential Ingredient for Room Sprays & Diffusers
Polysorbate is a gentle, non-ionic solubilizer and emulsifier used in home fragrance products to combine oil-based and water-based ingredients.
It plays a crucial role in preventing ‘separation’ between fragrance oils and water, ensuring a smooth and consistent blend.
This ingredient is especially popular for making room sprays from scratch. It allows fragrance oil to disperse evenly in water-based products like room and linen sprays, creating a stable solution. Without Polysorbate oils would float on top of the water, leading to poor scent throw and clogging issues in spray bottles.
Key benefits :
-
Perfect for room sprays and linen sprays
-
Ideal for mixing fragrance oils with diffuser bases such as Augeo and Perfumer’s Alcohol
-
Prevents separation of oil and water
Usage recommendation:
Use Polysorbate in a 1:1 ratio with your fragrance oil. For example, if you use 5% fragrance oil add 5% Polysorbate.
Always test in small batches to check stability and clarity!
